Paul Ryan was appointed to the Fox Corporation Board of Directors in March 2019 . He is a general partner of the private equity firm Solamere Capital, LLC and chair of the firm’s Executive Partner Group. He is Vice Chairman of Teneo Strategy LLC and also serves on the Advisory Boards of Robert Bosch Gmbh and Paradigm Operations L.P. and the Boards of Directors of Xactus (formerly UniversalCIS) and SHINE Medical Technologies, LLC. Mr. Ryan served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Executive Network Partnering Corporation from 2020 to 2022. He has been a Professor of the Practice, Political Science and Economics, at the University of Notre Dame since 2019.
Mr. Ryan previously served as the 54th Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. In office from October 2015 to January 2019, he was the youngest speaker in nearly 150 years. During his tenure, Mr. Ryan spearheaded efforts to reform our nation’s tax code for the first time in a generation, rebuild our national defense, expand domestic energy production, combat the opioid epidemic, reform our criminal justice system, and promote economic opportunity.
First elected to Congress in 1998, Mr. Ryan spent two decades representing the people of Wisconsin’s First Congressional District. A fifth-generation Janesville, Wisconsin native, he continued Wisconsin’s proud tradition of reform-minded leadership in the House of Representatives.
Before becoming speaker, Mr. Ryan was chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. As chairman, he worked to simplify the country’s tax code, protect health care choices, advance free trade, and strengthen the economy. Before that, Mr. Ryan served as chairman of the House Budget Committee, where he outlined revolutionary blueprints to balance the federal budget and pay off the national debt. In 2012, Mr. Ryan was selected to serve as Governor Mitt Romney’s Vice Presidential nominee.
Mr. Ryan currently resides near his childhood home in Janesville. He is a member of St. John Vianney’s Parish and a graduate of Joseph A. Craig High School. Mr. Ryan holds a degree in economics and political science from Miami University in Ohio.
